Steps of the Project
First nursery
February 2017
It is in February 2017 that with the help of my friend Katherine, her mother, Ivanna and her brother Mickaël we sow nearly 200 seeds of fruit trees in the garden of the grandfather, Tito. Tito was so generous to help us build this nursery that occupied 3/4 of his garden.
Emblem

For my birthday, my friend Elvira offered me the emblem of the project embodying every aspect of it. The emblem is inspired from the Angkor temple where Elvira and me had the chance to go together.
Land purchase
March 2019
After several weeks of cycling through fields, mountains and forests to meet the villagers of the south coast of the Caribbean, I had found, it an evidence that this is the land that I was looking for . As soon as I visited this piece of secondary forest, I knew that it was there that I wanted to live and implement my project. The day of my visit of the field the monkeys, the birds, the frogs were fessent hear, I heard it like a broad "Welcome in your new home". In addition to the beauty of the forest, the fertility of the soil, the two brooks, the situation of the field was beginning to reverberate. Located just behind a nature reserve, midway between the seaside destination of Puerto-Viejo, the ecological and scientific destination of Manzanillo and the Bribri indigenous reserve. I baught the land to Marvin, a very nice retired guy who knows a lot about forest and plants.

Moving
March 2019
We found a truck to move the trees from Tito's place (in Turrialba) to La evidencia. The 2-years old trees now are planted at the entrance of the land in aclimatization to their new home before to be transplanted in their definated place within the forest of the Evidence.
Second Nursery
March 2019
Before to go back to Belgium, I set up a nursery on Marvin's land (just opposite to La Evidencia). During my 3last day in Costa Rica, IÂ have managed to sow 400+ seeds of fruit trees from 62 different species.
Birth
February 2020
I planted, with the help of Katherine and Iris, trees on 2 hectares of the land. Growth
March 2020 - Forever
500 fruit trees, some bearing the name of my friends who supported me in this project, are growing on the field of La Evidencia, in the center of a very lushy secondary forest.
In a couple of years La Evidencia will be home to a lushy food forest that will be the central element of an super abundant Agro-Ecosystem.
